Hames Chocolates Ltd is a chocolate and confectionery manufacturer based in Skegness. Recently they have taken the leap and invested in LED lights, after discovering the amazing benefits it would bring.
LED lights will not only help to reduce energy consumption and lower their carbon footprint, it will also bring an estimated financial saving of around £2,239 a year.
The Smart Energy Greater Lincolnshire programme awarded a 38% grant of £6,003.40 towards this energy saving project.
Carol Oldbury, Director for Hames Chocolate Ltd, said:
“Hames Chocolates is a family venture and together we have been making chocolates in our very own chocolate factory in Lincolnshire for fifteen years. With our own chocolatiers, designers, printing and packing facility all in house, we offer the complete chocolate solution to many well-known businesses and high street brands.
As a growing business we believe it is vital to invest in our future. We recently reviewed our energy usage and applied for a grant from the Smart Energy Greater Lincolnshire programme to help us improve our energy efficiency. We have now successfully installed LED lights in our chocolate factory and are delighted to be able to reduce our energy consumption, lower our carbon footprint, whilst also saving money.”
This investment will be paid off within 3 years through the savings they will make, which is not long at all.
