Case study: Grayton Ltd

Grayton Ltd, based in Barton, is a specialist maintenance company for rotating equipment. They support a wide range of different sectors from steel, cement, oil, gas and chemicals.

Smart Energy Greater Lincolnshire has supported Grayton to make the change to LED lighting, helping their business to become more energy efficient by up to 65%.

Richard Marshall, Managing Director at Grayton Ltd, said that:

“We all need to do our bit for the environment and if it saves money too it’s a win win”

Grayton is passionate about reducing their carbon footprint and making choices kinder for the environment. Changing to LED is their first step to become more energy efficient and have further plans to invest in other energy saving measures such as, LED site lamps.

The Smart Energy Greater Lincolnshire programme awarded a 38% grant of £6,728.32 towards this Grayton energy saving project.

Richard said:

“The grant has enabled us to invest in new lighting both in the workshop and site. The payback for the project is an amazing 2.5 years and the saving will be ours for the next 10 years, as the new lights have a 10 year warranty. A supplier based in Immingham, were a great help to us sourcing and fitting the new lighting at our convenience. It’s good for two local companies to work together to help save the worlds resources”

Through making this simple change, Grayton will not have to change their lights as often, as LED lights last up to 5x longer compared to fluorescent lighting.

Grayton also found that they needed less light fittings for their office space to achieve the perfect brightness. This it has enabled them to become even more energy efficient and have higher savings on their energy bills.

Grayton is one of the many businesses in the Greater Lincolnshire area benefiting from the Smart Energy Greater Lincolnshire programme. If you are looking to save money on your energy bills, get in touch today to see if your business is eligible.
