Get ready for Earth Hour with free energy saving workshops

If you’ve been inspired to make a change by Earth Hour, a WWF project which will see people across the world turn off the lights later this month, our free energy saving workshops could be just what you’re looking for.

Launched in 2007, Earth Hour sees people across the planet join together to put the future of the environment under the spotlight through one hour of darkness from 8.30pm on 30th March.

It’s also an opportunity for individuals, communities, businesses and other to speak up about why nature matters and has grown support year on year over more than ten years of events.

But when you are running a business, it can be hard to know where to start or what to do to go greener. That’s why we’re running free workshops in Scunthorpe, Grimsby and Lincoln in the week before Earth Hour to help you make a change.

The workshops will be packed with information on how to do things differently for the good of the planet and your profits.

One business which has accessed the programme has already seen their bills cut in half thanks to the new, environmentally friendly ways of working they have implemented after meeting our friendly team and we are keen to share this success with as many more enterprises as we can.

The workshop will be supported by experts from the University of Applied Sciences Trier’s Institut fur angewandtes Stroffstrommanagement (IfaS) in Germany.

IfaS works on green projects around the world and has helped multi-national companies such as Continental, Procter and Gamble and Evonik Industries improve their energy use.

Topics covered will include heating, lighting, refrigeration, and staff behaviour towards energy use and the workshop takes place over one day, with lunch included.

Everyone who takes part will also receive a free follow-up visit from one of the IfaS experts at their workplace to support their energy saving strategy as well as an energy saving gift worth £500.

The workshops take place at:

The Terrace, in Grantham Street, Lincoln on Tuesday, 26th March
• Wortley House Hotel, Rowland Road, Scunthrope on Wednesday, 27th March
• The Holiday Inn, Wellowgate, Grimsby on Thursday, 28th March
